What a great idea – to have students create gmail accounts for their parents. That may have made things a little easier for me. I sent home a consent form and collected e-mail addresses that way, only to find out that there were several parents/guardians who have never used e-mail. Perhaps I’ll try your idea next time around.

Looks good Angie. Most of my students have their own email addresses. I never thought of opening gmail accounts for those that didn’t. I love the Voki. I’m going to create one and add it to ours. Thanks for the tips.

Angie, I’ll be keeping tabs on how your class blog develops. I started one with mine and it has been a test of patience. One tip that has worked to hook student interest is adding a cluster map. I did this with my Grade 9’s and 10’s and they were impressed that someone from Europe would be checking their thoughts out. It gave them a sense that it wasn’t only going to be me reading their thoughts.
